About

So what about me and why this website? Well as you may have figured out already, my name is Sofia and I’m a Swedish 20-something with a very strong passion for the monarchy and royals. I call myself both a monarchist and a royalist because I support the monarchy (a constitutional one I should say) as a form of system and I’m a royal watcher who appreciate what the royals do for our countries (plus, the fashion, jewellery and orders etc is always nice to watch).

These days in our modern Sweden the monarchy may have high approval ratings but the society as a whole does not appreciate our royals enough and the general knowledge of ceremonials and traditions that surrounds the monarchy is generally very poor. Plus the media coverage they get is minimal, and when they do get some it’s often trashy gossip stories. We really live in a time of celebrity fixation and a media age which does not really care to look beyond the surface when it comes to many things.

So with my special interests and a language barrier for many foreigners (and Swedes who cannot find much in normal media channels) to find news and learn about our Swedish monarchy, the royals past and present, our nobility and all the wonderful grand residences around the country - why not make it a part of my task to assist with was my thought. So as this website develops, this is what you will be able to find here.
