It’s Her Majesty calling

Early this cold morning, sitting on the train taking me through a heavy fog, the daily “Hallå där” column - were they feature a quick chat with someone who’s current with something - on the first page of Metro catched my eyes. Apparently a freelance photographer named Björn Elgstrand has been receiving calls from none other than Queen Silvia, and that’s all by mistake - unless Her Majesty is making prank calls that is.

The Queen has called Mr Elgstrand twice, after the first time he saved the number and when she called again this past Sunday, the Royal Palace came up on the display. At first Elgstrand thought that someone might be joking with him, but he recognized her voice immediately and does not know any professional imitators. And after checking the number, he found that it indeed went to the Royal Court.

When the Queen called the first time she asked for someone at the Royal Court, while this Sunday she realized the wrong dial and simply said “oh, I’m sorry, I have dialled the wrong number”. Elgstrand did not have a chance to start up a conversation, but after having shot pictures of the Queen at the Royal Palace many times he says that if she ever calls again, he would love to try to speak with her more.

Her Majesty is not the only wrong dialler to Mr Elgstrand; he affirms that many people have called him looking for a Björn Sprängare (former Governor of the Royal Palaces, my note) who apparently has a similar cell phone number.
