After having completed military service and several stints in military training of different sorts, studied graphic design, photography and an economics course, Prince Carl Philip will this autumn continue to concentrate on forestry issues. As the future tenant of the Stenhammar Castle and Estate which rests on vast forest holdings, crop cultivation, leasing of buildings and animal keeping, the Prince feels that he needs more flesh on the bones before taking this on in the future.
After a two-week course at the Gammelkroppa Forestry School in Filipstad just recently, Carl Philip will now enrol in courses at The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Environment and forest technology will be his focus at the school’s facilities in Alnarp and Uppsala, but he will still be living in Stockholm. The university’s head of communications says to Metro:
- He is going to take a specialist education in forestry and agriculture.
In connection with the studies the Prince will also complete an apprenticeship at Stenhammar.
Crown Princess Victoria will travel to India in October and Princess Madeleine, who recently studied children’s psychology, will return to university to pursue her Master’s degree in 2009. The focus this time will once again be the science of art, but she will also continue working for the World Childhood Foundation at their headquarters in Stockholm.

I really like prince Carl Philip, but I think he should do what he really wants to in his heart.

I think it would be wonderful if he could do whatever he loved to do…However, life comes with responsibilities, more so for members of royalty than for others. If he is to take over those estates in the future, he HAS to know how to run them. So I’m pleased to see he’s working towards that and fulfilling his responsibilities, not just indulging himself aimlessly as so many royals seem to do these days.

Well Carl Philip, as he is only second in line and will be pulled down even further when Crown Princess Victoria has children, has been able to both grow his own interest and doing things that are important for his role and future endeavours. So he can get a bit of everything really. He’s also in a position where he can live quite a normal life on an everyday basis, quite rare if you look at royals in other countries.
